Cancel Your Subscription
If you need to cancel your Aura subscription, you can do so easily from your profile settings. This guide will walk you through the process.
Important: When you cancel your subscription, you'll retain access to your premium features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan.
Before You Cancel
Consider these options before canceling:
Downgrade Instead
If you're looking to reduce costs, you can downgrade to a lower tier instead of canceling completely:
- Premium → Pro: Keep essential AI features at a lower price
- Pro → Free: Maintain basic access without any cost
Pause Your Account
Taking a break? You can pause your subscription instead of canceling. Contact us at support@withaura.app to discuss pause options.
Step-by-Step Cancellation Guide
Step 1: Open the Sidebar Menu
- Click on the menu icon (☰) in the top left corner of the app
- The sidebar navigation will open
Step 2: Go to Your Profile
- Look for your profile section in the sidebar
- Click on your name or profile picture to open your profile settings
Step 3: Find Subscription Settings
- In your profile settings, scroll down to the "Subscription" section
- Here you'll see your current plan and subscription details
Step 4: Manage Your Subscription
In the Subscription section, you have two options:
Option A: Downgrade Plan
- Click "Change Plan" or "Manage Subscription"
- Select a lower-tier plan (Pro or Free)
- Confirm your selection
Option B: Cancel Subscription
- Look for the "Cancel Subscription" button
- Click on it to initiate cancellation
Step 5: Confirm Cancellation
- A confirmation dialog will appear
- You may be asked to provide a reason for canceling (optional)
- Click "Confirm Cancellation" to complete the process
What Happens After Cancellation
Immediate Effects
- Your subscription status will change to "Canceling"
- You'll receive a confirmation email
Until End of Billing Period
- You keep full access to all premium features
- All your data remains intact
- AI credits remain usable
After Billing Period Ends
- Account downgrades to Free plan
- Premium features become unavailable
- Your data is NOT deleted - it's all still there
- You can re-subscribe anytime to regain access
Refund Policy
- Monthly subscriptions: No prorated refunds; access continues until period ends
- Annual subscriptions: Contact support@withaura.app for refund inquiries
- Recent charges: If you were charged by mistake, contact us within 48 hours
Re-subscribing
Changed your mind? You can re-subscribe at any time:
- Go to Profile → Subscription
- Click "Upgrade" or "Choose Plan"
- Select your desired plan
- Complete the payment process
Your account will be instantly upgraded and all premium features restored.
Common Questions
Will I lose my data?
No. Your financial data, transactions, notes, and all other information remain safe. Canceling only removes access to premium features.
Can I cancel and get a refund?
Monthly subscriptions are not refunded mid-cycle. For annual plans or special circumstances, contact our support team.
What if I change my mind?
You can re-subscribe at any time from your profile settings. There's no waiting period.
Will I be charged again?
After cancellation, you will NOT be charged again unless you choose to re-subscribe.
